Beech Grove County Park Masterplanning
Introducing Beech Grove County Park
Elkhart County is working on a masterplan for the future Beech Grove County Park. There is currently no parking, direct access points, or amenities on the land. The goal of the County is to develop a plan in order to open this site to the public in the future.
This park is approximately 65 acres and is defined by a beautiful, deciduous forest (including a distinctive grove of beech trees) and several wetlands. Some ephemeral flowers, such as trout lily, can be found here in the spring. A variety of wildlife call the park home including herons, sandhill cranes, foxes, owls, and more. Existing invasive species (particularly on the north side), poorly draining soil, and the proximity to County Road 17 are also important considerations.
